As he walked through the sliding door that lead to their shared bunk, Erebus eyes fluttered aggressively and he swatted away whatever smacked him right in the face. He took a surprised step backwards as his nose was filled with the soft sent of oranges, only to be met face to face with a small strung up plant he could only assume was some voodoo Earth worship ritual for whatever holiday a quarter of the crew was freaking out about.
If only he was fortunate enough to not know what it meant, but he furrowed his brow while he examined the mistletoe in the flesh for the first time, or at least that is what he guessed it to be from what the other Earth fighter’s had been talking about. You were supposed to do something with this right? Stand under it, yeah, but what else? He felt like he was missing a key piece of information about this plant and why it was hanging in his room…
Erebus had been so focused on the green object in front of him that it took him a moment to see Abel standing there, shifting uncomfortably with folded arms looking away. He raised his eyebrows at the navigator and gave an audible huff to catch his attention, to which he was met with a rather surprising look - Abel was red? Was he… embarrassed? Or worse blushing?
Then it hit the fighter like a bag full of rocks. You were supposed to kiss.
HAH! The surprised noise left his lips as he glanced between the mistletoe and his rosy cheeked partner, folding his arms. This had to be an accident, didn’t Abel despise him? Abel was reading his expressions and the side of his eye twitched in annoyance as it was obvious what Erebus was thinking, but the navigator moved with a silky swiftness that caught him off guard.
In two swift motions, Abel stepped forward and came face to face with the taller man and Erebus went humorous confusion to a silent shock… but he didn’t move. As the blonde got closer, his momentum slowing as he stood on his toes to reach using Erebus’ arms to stabilize him, a faint whisper left his lips -
“Stop me if you hate me so much…”But they both knew that wasn’t going to happen.
